Holiday Cheese

I just got done cutting cheese for our Christmas party on Christmas. A cute thing to do with your cheese on any holiday is to find a cookie cutter that matches that holiday (star or tree for Christmas, pumpkin or leaf for Thanksgiving, etc.) and simply cut your cheese into large rectangles and then press your cookie cutter into the cheese. Then, you gently press the cheese out of the cutter. You should have you cheese in the shape of the cookie cutter by the time you are done. Cut out as many shapes as possible from one rectangle. Then what should you do with the extras? You can sprinkle the extras on top of anything as needed. You could also take each extra of cheese and split into little pieces and then put a toothpick in it and then set it out an a tray. Merry Christmas!

Yummy looking bars

A couple days ago, I was looking through a magazine. There were some yummy looking bars, and they were milk or dark chocolate (anyone you choose) on bottom and white chocolate on the top with bits of candy cane sprinkled on top. They were hardened so they were probably put in the fridge to harden!

Potato Yogurt

Even though this blog is about cookies, cakes, and such, I have some really great advice about a dinner that is great for you!!!!! Potatoes are actually great for you, as long as they don't have too much unhealthy stuff on them. So instead of sour cream, you can use organic yogurt with some seasonings in it. And instead of lots of cheese, can use a small handful. With a little salt and butter, this could be a dinner you could love!!!!!

Ideas for Christmas cookies

Every year, we bake lots of cookies with my Grandma for Christmas! Here are some we do every year.......we get these ideas from cookie books, so here they are:

Banana-Oatmeal Cookies

We sometimes make cookies called Banana-Oatmeal Cookies!! They are delicious!! Here is the recipe:

3 ripe bananas
2 cups of rolled oats
1 cup of chocolate chips
1/3 cup of vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Stir in the oats, oil, and vanilla. Mix well and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Drop teaspoons of the mixture onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly brown.

You may want to let them cool for a little bit, or else they are very melty.

Hope you like them!
